Anti-Bullying
Bullying is action taken by one or more children with the deliberate intention of hurting another child, either physically or emotionally. Bullying is wrong and damages individual children. We therefore do all we can to prevent it, by developing a school ethos in which bullying is regarded as unacceptable.
We aim, as a school, to produce a safe and secure environment where all can learn without anxiety.
We aim to produce a consistent school response to any bullying incidents that may occur.
We aim to make all those connected with the school aware of our opposition to bullying, and we make clear each person’s responsibilities with regard to the eradication of bullying in our school.

Quote taken from the website: "The Anti-Bullying Network was established at the University of Edinburgh in 1999 and gained a reputation for the high quality of the services it provided to school communities. A demand clearly continues to exist for these services. And thus The Anti-Bullying Network relaunched in October 2007 as a not-for-profit company and is now a registered Scottish charity, number SC038976."

Quote taken from the website: "Bullying UK is the new name for the award-winning charity Bullying Online which was founded in 1999 by journalist Liz Carnell from Harrogate and her son John, as a direct result of their experience of dealing with school bullying, which included taking successful legal action against an education authority.
Liz has been researching and writing on school bullying issues for 14 years and identified the internet as the cheapest way to provide information and advice."

The Alliance brings together over 50 organisations into one network with the aim of reducing bullying and creating safer environments in which children and young people can live, grow, play and learn.
